Staying true to the roots of which Tennessee grew from, the logo mark combines the music aspect of the state, highlighted by the eighth note on the left with the mountainous ranges that occupy Tennessean land, represented on the right. The script logotype lends a nod to the authentic and genuine character that the general atmosphere and people of Tennessee embody.

As a primary application for the logo, I designed a series of posters promoting three different artists at the fictional music festival, Broken Strings Music Festival. The composition of each poster is the front of a guitar, featuring the soundhole and pick guard with the strings acting as a symbol for the festival. Obviously representing guitar strings themselves, the six broken strings also symbolize the mountain ranges of Tennessee.
